Congratulations to the Penn Law Youth Advocacy Project (YAP) for hosting a powerful discussion on October 12, 2016 on the horrifying reality and tragic consequences of subjecting children to solitary confinement.
On the panel were:
- Johnny Perez, the Safe Reentry Advocate at the Urban Justice Center Mental Health Project
- Marsha Levick of Juvenile Law Center
- Josh Glenn of the Youth Art & Self Empowerment Project, and
- Samantha Melamed of the Philadelphia Inquirer
A solitary confinement cell replica is on display in the Penn Biddle Law Library (in partnership with Juvenile Law Center, InLiquid and photographer Richard Ross), which will remain on the 2nd floor of the library until October 28th.
