The Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project is thrilled to be featured in Issue 31 of the Social Innovations Journal, which “honors the region’s most passionate social innovators and entrepreneurs whose work and social impact is often missed as they quietly work to make Greater Philadelphia a more inclusive, equitable and thriving region of innovation and opportunity for all of its residents.” YSRP was nominated for a 2017 Social Innovation Award in the category of Human Rights Innovators, and award nominees received over 3,500 votes from the Greater Philadelphia area. Upon receiving nomination as a finalist in this category, Ms. Visser Adjoian and Ms. Fine stated, “As a relatively new organization seeking to change the way we treat children in the justice system, we are energized and honored by the recognition of a 2017 Social Innovations Award. We are humbled to be considered alongside this inspiring community of individuals and organizations that believe in pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo in our city.” Read the full issue of the Social Innovations Journal here. Ms. Visser Adjoian and Ms. Fine were nominated alongside finalists Jonathon Pyle of Philadelphia Legal Assistance and Jeannine Lisitski of Women Against Abuse. Congratulations are extended especially to first-place prize-winner Ms. Lisitski, and to Mr. Pyle for their tremendous advocacy and contributions to communities across Greater Philadelphia. YSRP was honored to receive second-place prize, and is grateful to the Social Innovations Journal, the award presenters, our fellow nominees, and all those who cast a vote in support of the remarkable award nominees.
