YSRP’s Senior Reentry Coordinator John Pace talks with The Jawncast podcast from KYW Newsradio about hiring formerly-incarcerated people.
On March 30, 2017, the Philadelphia Citizen published “We’re Number One! Philly leads the nation in a dubious category: juvenile life without parole. Does it need to be this way?” Author David Love interviewed several of YSRP’s partners and colleagues, and Co-Director Lauren Fine. Importantly, Love also interviewed former juvenile lifer Tyrone Jones, who served 43 years in prison for a crime that occurred when he was 16 years old (and of which he still maintains his innocence). As the article closes, “Holding the title of juvenile lifer capital of America is not a winning proposition for Philly or Pennsylvania. Instead, we need to listen to the likes of Tyrone Jones and start from the perspective that all our kids are salvageable.”
