YSRP Co-Director Lauren Fine Honored by City Council
YSRP Co-Director Lauren Fine was honored to be recognized, alongside fierce advocates Kameelah Davis-Spears, Wesley Stevenson, Colleen Shanahan and Jessica Feierman, by Councilman Kenyatta Johnson as 2017 “Women on the Move” at a ceremony and luncheon at Philadelphia’s City Hall. During Women’s History Month, the Councilman honored YSRP’s work on ending the practice of charging parents for the cost of their children’s incarceration in the juvenile justice system.
The Pennsylvania House Judiciary Committee voted to advance HB 1381 today, which YSRP hopes will usher in a more humane era of support and care for youth involved in the criminal legal system.
