Click above to watch the video. YSRP Co-Director Joanna Visser Adjoian and Reentry Coordinator John Pace joined Eastern State Penitentiary’s Searchlight Series on September 1, 2020, to talk about reentry and partnership in the time of COVID-19. In conversation with Sean Kelley, Eastern State Penitentiary’s Senior Vice President, Director of Interpretation, Joanna and John discuss how YSRP has engaged in creative advocacy amid the pandemic, including making emergency funds available to client-partners, and engaging in litigation, and in policy advocacy to get young people out of jails, detention centers, and other carceral settings that place them at great risk of exposure to COVID-19. Joanna and John also discuss how YSRP’s work is guided by values that are deeply rooted in racial justice. Note that the video picks up mid-sentence, due to a slight technical glitch.
