The Pennsylvania House Judiciary Committee voted to advance HB 1381 today, which YSRP hopes will usher in a more humane era of support and care for youth involved in the criminal legal system.
SAVE THE DATE: YSRP cofounders Joanna Adjoian, Esquire and Lauren Fine, Esquire will be guest speakers at the Delaware County Bar Association on Thursday, February 12th 2015. The meeting will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. and located on 335 West Front Street, Media, PA 19063. “Founded in 1872, the Delaware County Bar Association is an organization of lawyers established to promote professional competence, enforce standards of ethical conduct, and encourage a spirit of public service among members of the legal profession. With 1,200 members, the Delaware County Bar Association offers attorneys opportunities for networking, provides educational programming, and supports its members through mentoring and affinity programs. The Association is also committed to serving the public through its Lawyer Referral and Pro Bono Programs and community outreach activities.” (Delaware County Bar Association) Lauren and Joanna will be speaking about how YSRP helps to improve outcomes for youth in the adult criminal justice system. Through their efforts, they are able to provide training and support to attorneys at sentencing. In addition, they empower youth and their families throughout incarceration and upon release from prison.
